Sr. Platforms Security Assurance Specialist

Accountabilities and Key Roles:

• Responsible for Global Platforms (Databases and OS) Security Control, focusing on the state of the security with compliancy testing, penetration testing, vulnerability testing, etc.
• Continuously Evaluate IT security threats / needs for Arab Bank globally and recommend counter measures.
• Manage IT security incidents, provide security event analysis, higher level support and validate remediation
• Design and Develop platforms security policies and standards in coordination with ISD.
• Evaluate, test, and audit security solutions across the Arab Bank globally.
• Ensure compliance of IT system with Bank technical controls and PnPs.
• Provide efficient, robust, reliable security control.
• Specialized in Platforms (Databases and OS) Security Compliance Monitoring, focusing on events and the response with log monitoring, SIEM administration, and incident response.
• Apply independent 2nd level Review and validation for sufficiency and proper closure of Platforms (Databases and OS) security related incidents.
• First line response for Platforms (Databases and OS) security incidents and forensic investigation.
• Participate in Security sophisticated forensic Investigation.
• Provide other departments with the necessary consulting and advisory about platforms. security configuration and parameter setup for new IT systems and solutions.
• High involvement in Platforms (Databases and OS) security testing, and building up extensive monitoring role.
• Prepare periodic platforms (Databases and OS) security compliance reports and dashboards.
• Continuous follow up on closure of identified Platforms (Databases and OS) security gaps.
• Escalation of detected Platforms (Databases and OS) security breaches.
• Manage internal/external Platforms (Databases and OS) security scans.

Job Requirements:

Education:

• Graduate degree in Computer Science/ Computer Engineering / Telecommunication Engineering from a recognized University.

Experience:

• 5-9 years of experience.
• Experience in configuring database & OS security parameters and configurations.
• Years’ Experience of implementing, maintaining, and administrating commonly used databases and Operating systems such as Windows, UNIX, Linux, AS400, Oracle, SQL, DB2, etc, this includes running commonly related tools.
• Experience in implementing and reviewing database technical controls, monitoring potential databases and platforms security threats.
• Experience of investigating and reporting databases and platforms security issues, exposures, and threats and recommending mitigation action.
• Experience in databases and platforms security logs and events monitoring, and platforms common vulnerabilities.

Competencies:

• Fluent in English.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem solving/root cause analysis skills.
• Basic Knowledge of databases and platforms forensics investigations.
• Related Database qualifications such as MCSE, UNIX, Linux, AS400, MySQL, Oracle, & DB2.
• Strong Technical writing and editing skills.
• Strong communications skills, Technical writing and editing skills.
• Good understanding of IT technologies, ex. Security, Applications, interfaces, databases, operating systems, hardware, servers etc...
