Job Description



IRC has worked with refugees and other vulnerable populations in Jordan.  IRC’s health program in Jordan focuses on urban interventions in the north and in both camps providing various health services for Syrian refugees and host community members including primary health care, reproductive health, community health through IRC clinics based in Ramtha , Mafraq ,a primary health care facility in Zaatari refugee camp. And.and RH clinic  in Azraq camp. A Since 2016, IRC Zaatari clinic provides Primary health care and reproductive health services for Syrian refugee camps at Zaatari camp.

 Deliverables:


The medical doctor (GP) will be responsible for performing the following specific activities.

Responding to medical/health problems presented by patients including history taking, diagnosis, investigation, treatment, and referral as appropriate;

Commissioning healthcare by liaising with medical professionals in the community and

other NGOS;

Promoting health education in conjunction with other health professionals;
Organizing preventative medical programs for individual patients.

Managing resources to handle targets as effectively as possible, for example, using the NCD criteria and Referral Service.

Maintaining a portfolio of continuing professional development (CPD) activities.
Maintaining NCD management criteria.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor degree in medicine

The Finance Officer in the Amman Office performs the day-to-day finance operations. Manage all aspects of day to day operations of accounting department.

Assist in the implementation of Finance policies, procedures and systems.

Ensure compliance with IRC procedures and guidelines.

Verify completeness and accuracy of all accounting documents.

Filing all finance records and make it available for internal /external audit and review, and trace all documents (PRs, payments, checks, and service requests).

Calculation, deduction, and reconciliation of Tax.

Keep up to date records for staff program advances, and follow up with them to liquidate advances.

Liaison with Supply Chain, HR and Programs.  Verify payments with paying attention to all Purchase Orders and Purchase Requests for proper coding and budget adequacy.   Maintain Payment register for all payments received and payments returned, to make sure that there is no long outstanding payment as well as payments are not missed/lost in process.

Focal person for All payments sent/received to/from Amman and to ensure that Amman process payments within given time period. Custodian of Check books, (preparation) and Issuance of Checks.

Participating in the month end closing and prepare necessary JV’s as required/requested.

Reconciliation of accounts and preparing the balance sheet reconciliation and bank reconciliation.

 Any other task assigned by supervisor(s).

 Computer literate with significant experience in MS. Office, accounting package knowledge (SUN system) will be an added advantage.

Previous experience with International NGOs and/or USAID projects is highly desirable.

Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.

Excellent skill with MS. Excel is a preferable.

Ability to prioritize among multiple tasks and make decisions.

 Language Skills: Fluency in English

 Certificates or Licenses: CMA is a plus

Job Description

The Gender Equality Technical Advisor will play a critical function to advise and support IRC’s technical units, contribute to the design of gender transformative interventions and support gender and power analysis and learning at a country program level. The role will engage with other Technical Excellence staff and country program teams to support new feminist, inclusive and transformational programming frameworks, tools and approaches.  This will leverage and build from the extensive expertise and program footprint of the Women’s Protection and Empowerment team within the Violence Prevention and Response Unit.   The role will work with the IRC’s Research and Innovation team to draw from the best available evidence on what works to transform unequal gender norms in programming, as well as to advice on the generation of new evidence on gender norms change in the humanitarian field.

Major Responsibilities: 

• Advise and Support Technical Excellence 

o Contribute to identifying strategic technical priorities, in collaboration with Education, Health, Economic Empowerment, Violence Prevention & Response and Governance. 

O Support advancement of knowledge and understanding of available evidence and learning pertaining to transformative intervention effectiveness in prioritized areas.  This may include creating and socializing evidence frameworks and reviews including the IRC’s revised Outcome and Evidence Framework. 

O Create and support the implementation of training and capacity strengthening efforts.

O Convene and facilitate a community of practice for Technical Excellence and country program and to share knowledge, experience and learning.  

• Develop Transformative Interventions that promote Gender and Social Norms Change

O Actively engage and support Technical Excellence focal points to design new intervention models in identified priority areas.  This may include behavior change strategies, mass communication, leadership and advocacy skills building and systems level engagement. 

O Design new or modify existing tools and practices that will enable program teams to use more feminist, inclusive and transformative approaches

O Collaborate with Technical Excellence gender focal points to modify and adjust existing intervention models to include components that identify and raise awareness of harmful gender and other social norms 

O Partner with the Women’s Protection and Empowerment team (part of the Violence Prevention and Response Unit) to leverage their experience and collaborate on design and modification strategies.   

O Support business development for new gender transformative interventions and learning areas 

O Engage with relevant local partner agencies for cross sharing and learning.

• Test and Learn

O Ensure strong monitoring and evaluation approaches to capture robust learning, in partnership technical unit focal points and monitoring & evaluation advisors and specialists.

O Monitor progress and uptake in country programs of transformative approaches and provide support in partnership with sectoral Technical Advisors

Qualifications

Work Experience: minimum of 5 years of experience in the humanitarian or development sector with proven track record of integrating intersectional feminist outcomes in humanitarian programs.

Field Experience: At least 2 years field experience in humanitarian settings.

Demonstrated Skills and Competencies: 

• Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing interventions with norms change and transformation objectives 

• Demonstrated experience on the development and implementation of research and/or monitoring & evaluation frameworks for transformative interventions.

• Effectiveness in bridging practical guidance and conceptual frameworks

• Experience in developing and administering gender trainings, ability to communicate technical expertise and standards, and implement best practice approaches

Job Description

Working directly with the IRC’s Gender Equality Champions (GEC) and Women at Work (W@W) groups, the candidate will support the teams at creating a digitalized set of characters that represents the characteristics and values of gender equality at the IRC. Through conducting a set of meetings and group discussions, the candidate will collect and create a set of attributes that will be used to create the character. The final characters set delivered by the candidate will be used through a series of IRC animated videos, comics, and other digital productions. The consultancy will last for two months; 16 August 2020 – 16 October 2020. 

Roles and responsibilities

Conduct and facilitate group sessions to collect the main attributes of the characters set and draft a character definition.

Provide designs of the characters as defined in the group sessions and according to the list of deliverables.

Provide the final product in a high-quality vector format so it can be re-used in different ways as the IRC sees fit.

Ensure following an inclusive approach, in compliance with gender and disability IRC/Global guidelines, throughout the whole process until the submission of the final product.

DELIVERABLES

Conduct focus group discussions with IRC focal points and share project work plan. 

Library of assets include (characters, environments, and any animated element) in AI format and prepared for animation.  Source files for all finished products and assets in FLA or AEP format

Animated introduction video with voice over.

Qualifications

University Degree in Graphic Design , computer science, IT, or related field 
Experience using Adobe Flash and Edge Animate 
Knowledge and familiarity using image, graphics and video authoring tools like adobe Photoshop, illustrator , after effect 
Graphic design skills
Storyboard writing skills
Fluency in Arabic and strong working proficiency in English

OWNERSHIP AND LICENSES: The IRC will maintain full ownership and licenses of the products.
