Job Announcement: Software Engineer at Jordan Ahli Bank

Position: Software Engineer
Location: Amman, Jordan
Type: Full-Time

Summary:

Jordan Ahli Bank is looking for a talented Software Engineer to join our team. As a Software Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining backend services and real-time features using Node.js and AWS Cloud Services. You will collaborate closely with frontend developers to ensure a seamless user experience and be responsible for code optimization, mentoring junior team members, and ensuring security compliance.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain backend services and APIs using Node.js.
  • Implement real-time features using WebSockets to enhance the user experience.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic.
  • Utilize AWS cloud services (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS) to build scalable and resilient systems.
  • Write reusable, testable, and efficient code.
  • Conduct performance tuning, stress testing, and resolve latency issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
  • Perform code reviews and mentor junior developers.
  • Ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for system design and implementation.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Over 5 years of experience in backend development, with at least 3 years focused on Node.js.
  • Strong experience with AWS Cloud Services.
  • Proficiency in implementing real-time features using WebSockets.
  • Familiarity with RESTful API design and microservices architecture.
  • Strong knowledge of databases, both SQL and NoSQL.
  • Proficient understanding of code versioning tools such as Git.
